The four-legged festival of the summer is back and it's set to be a brilliant and deserved celebration for our furry friends, after endless months of eat, dog walk, sleep, repeat.
Now in its third year, Dogstival is well-established as the canine festival with serious cool-factor. Doggy devotees will be flocking back to the gorgeous surroundings of Burley Park in the New Forest this June for two days of pure hound-o-nistic fun.
As always, the epic canine celebration will have heaps of activities and things for our four-legged friends to enjoy, including:
+ BARKOUR! New for 2021, an adventure playground has been created for this twist on parkour, where pups can navigate their way through agility ramps, sandpits, see-saws, a quirky caravan and more.
+ Pup participation activities. Your dog can have a go at everything from flyball and agility to canicross and fun scent demo challenges. There's also the giant dog diving splash pool for those who prefer their fun in the water and a fun canine IQ test too!
+ A GIANT dog bed experience. Award-winning, luxury dog bed company Charley Chau will be supersizing their most luxurious design so owners can get comfy in their dog's bed for once. Larger than a Super King, it will have plenty of room for the whole family, humans and canines included.
+ A canine cooking stage. Lips will be smacking and tongues drooling over the live cooking stage which will focus on canine nutrition.
+ Expert talks. This Morning’s Vet Dr Scott Miller will lead the pack on the Dog House Stage, sharing advice on how to keep our furry friends in tip top health.
+ Training and behavioural tips. As a nod to all the dogs that have arrived during lockdown, the Dog House Behaviour Stage will have a big focus on puppy and first time owners. The Behaviourist Lounge, hosted by dog trainer and behaviourist Natalie Light, will offer a more intimate and personalised insight into common behaviour issues, along with tips on potential fixes.
+ Pop-up vet. Throughout the showground, there will be pop-up vets as well as physio drop-in centres so owners can get one-to-one feedback for their pet.
+ Gundog Village. For crowd entertainment, there will be five different scurries, masterclass displays as well as a ‘Working Test’ demonstration.
+ Main Arena. Set to be as big a draw as ever, the Main Arena will feature demonstrations from acclaimed gundog expert Sam Thatcher as well as Little Nippers, Lurchers & Hawk racing. There will also be thrilling displays from the Hampshire Fire & Rescue ‘Arson Task Force’ and Urban Search & Rescue Dog Teams as well as a flyball tournament, fun quizzes and an old-fashioned sports day where owners can compete with their dogs to win prizes.
+ Live music & stalls. Championing the small independent and artisan pet businesses, as well as the more well-known traders, Dogstival will have more than 140 stalls selling every doggy goodie imaginable. There'll also be locally sourced food and drink, catering for all tastes and dietary requirements, as well as live music.
+ The K9 Chapel of Love. If your dog is lucky enough to find their festival soulmate, you can take the two of them to get hitched at the K9 Chapel of Love, which comes complete with a newly-wed dress up box.
+ Photo opportunities. As ever, Dogstival will be packed with epic photo props and opportunities to capture the day on camera. There'll even be a Hollywood red carpet walkway!
The whole weekend is set to be loads of fun for dogs and owners alike. Plus, a visit to Dogstival will support a range of charities including The Dogs Trust, Service Dogs UK, Pets As Therapy and Support Dogs For Epilepsy & Autism.
Dogstival takes place on 5th & 6th June 2021 at Burley Park, New Forest. Tickets are priced at £13.90 for adults, £8 for children 6 years old plus. Concessions are available. For more information and tickets, visit Dogstival.co.uk.
