Wilbur's Birthday Bonanza!

Updated: Oct 25, 2018

Yes, you guessed it...it was my birthday last month and I turned a big 4! How does the boss of WildPaws celebrate his birthday, you wonder? With lots of cake, treats, toys and walkies, of course! Read on to hear all about my special day...

We started celebrating a day early at our grandparents' house. They have a shop local to them which sells these yummy Iced Woofins and mummy couldn't resist buying one each for both of us!

After being suitably fussed from the grandparents, we travelled back home as we wanted to be fresh-faced for the big day. Mum and dad said we could have the day off from boxing up orders so I was very excited to see what they had in store for me...

I woke up in the morning to a big pile of presents...all with my name on! I couldn't wait to get my paws stuck in. I absolutely love opening presents and often help mum, dad and even my grandparents with ripping theirs open! Sometimes the box the gift comes in can be even better than the real thing, you know?

Anyway, I hear you asking what did I get? Well, I sure was one lucky pup! One of my pals, Dudley, sent me a lovely package all the way from Devon! He knows how much I love Lily's Kitchen so he sent me one of their yummy snack bars and a Meat Love salmon treat. We are both big fish fiends and he loves these but I've never tried them before!

From mum and dad, I got some venison biscuits, carob chocolates & liver bites. I also got a Kong Dynos T-Rex which I had been after for ages and one of the new Kong Xpressions too. It is so much fun: it's star-shaped, bounces unpredictably and squeaks too! Paisley nicked both of them from me though... Why would anyone have a little sister?!

Mum also got me some of We Love To Create's brand new doggy macarons. They come in a variety of flavours, one being banana which is a special favourite of mine. Oh, and they also got me a replacement Kong Squeezz Ball. Let me tell you, it's by far the best ball in the world! It squeaks, it bounces and it rolls. It's the only ball I'll play with at the park!

After opening all of my pressies, it was time to go and stretch our legs! One of my favourite walks is Rushcliffe Country Park. There are big patches of green to play with my ball, lots of doggy pals and they even have an agility track! Mum and dad thought it was only right we went there for some birthday agility...

I played with my new ball, Paisley played with my new star toy and we met lots of doggies. We had the agility course to ourselves and I had loads of fun running up the ramps, going on the seesaw and jumping through the hoops. Paisley was a little bit scared but she did them too! I love doing all of the different agility tasks - it's great fun!

After the park, we went on to our local pub for dinner. The Star Inn is just a short walk from our home and is very doggy friendly. I could tell it was my special day as dad even let me have a bite of mum's burger!

When we arrived home, I was greeted with the most wonderful birthday cake and mum and dad singing 'Happy Birthday' to me. The cake was really tasty and even had my name and age on it! Mum had specially ordered it from Hungry Hounds Bakery and I'd even got some tea, biscuits and a toy with it! Apparently we can't eat it all so some of it is in the freezer for another day...

Thanks for reading all about my birthday! Luckily I don't have to wait another year now...I just have to wait until Paisley's birthday in December. One of the perks of having a little sister! I get to share her cake, treats and toys like she has mine...

We've been very busy pups lately, running around the country and keeping ourselves busy with work. We'll have some more updates on our adventures soon so keep an eye out!

Until then...

Love, nose licks & waggy tails,

Wilbur & Paisley x
