Wilbur's Pup Crawl

Updated: Oct 25, 2018

Nottingham Christmas Lights

Hello and Happy Thanksgiving to all of my American readers! I hope you’ve all had as great a day as I did last week…

Some of you may remember that I went to see Nottingham turn on the Christmas Lights last year. Well my parents decided to take me again last Friday and it was magical...

We started off in Market Square and gazed in awe at the beautiful Christmas lights before making our way through the bustling crowd – trying hard not to get my paws stood on!

We just about managed to arrive at the Crafty Crow, where dogs are allowed and the beer is plentiful. Mum and dad ordered some food whilst I lapped up the attention from many admirers. I couldn’t even count on my paws how many people came to give me some fuss but it was definitely into double figures! I got lots of compliments, including that I looked like Eddie from Frasier which is funny because he actually

inspired mum and dad to get me. Oh, and one lady even took my photograph!

Having to drag me away from adoring fans, we made our way on to our next destination – well it was a pup crawl after all! Sadly, ‘there was no room at the inn’ but mum had looked

up dog friendly pubs on CAMRA’s website earlier and had seen that the Broadway Bar allowed doggies so we made our way in. It is actually inside a cinema so I had to be on my best behaviour – I got a delicious SmartBone for being so well behaved.

Saving Their Seats

Before leaving, we checked to see if the BrewDog bar had any room, and they did. We found a table at the back and sat next to a lovely couple who just happened to be dog handlers! They were besotted with me and I, them – I even jumped on to the man’s lap and started smothering him with kisses. They said what a lovely temperament I had, how well-behaved I was and, of course, how cute I was. They even trusted me to look after their seats whilst they went to the bar!

It was getting late so we called it a night and set off home. I was so tired that I slept most of the following day!

Keep your eyes peeled for the next Wilbur’s Week as I have an exciting weekend planned!

Until then,

Love, nose licks and waggy tails,

Wilbur X
