Wilbur & Paisley Support Small: February Feature

By Wilbur  |  21 Feb 2018 19:00:00

Hi guys! Some of the more avid WildPaws fans amongst you may have already seen on social media that one of our New Year's resolutions is to help promote and support more small businesses like ourselves. Without amazing, loyal customers like you guys and the support of others, we wouldn't be where we are today. We love to support small and local so we have decided to feature one small business a month on our blog. Due to personal circumstances, we were unable to start on January so this will be our first ever feature...

Wilbur & Paisley of WildPaws Meet Hendrix from Happy Husky

For our first 'Support Small' feature, we've picked a lovely small company that we discovered at Christmas thanks to our lovely friends at Happy Husky. Hendrix, the happy husky himself (pictured above with Wilbur & Paisley), is one of our lovely customers who writes his very own blog. He featured Harley Bear's Coco Bites on his 12 Days of Pupmas blog and, well, he definitely convinced us to buy them! They went down a treat with Paisley for her birthday (not forgetting Wilbur, of course!) and as a pawfect stocking filler for Christmas. Although they look good enough for us humans to taste, Wilbur & Paisley were the official testers so we'll leave the blog in their capable paws...

Wilbur from WildPaws with Harley Bear's Coco Bites

Hi everyone, Wilbur here! Paisley and I are so excited to introduce our new monthly feature: Wilbur & Paisley Support Small!
Pups, if your mum is anything like ours then we're sure she'll have bought you a Valentine's Day present (if not, why not?!) After seeing the gorgeous Valentine's gifts that Harley Bear's Coco Bites had on offer, mum decided to treat us and we thought it would make the pawfect Valentine's themed feature for February...

Paisley Asks Will You Be Mine?

Harley Bear's Coco Bites, named after chief taste tester Harley the Staffy, create tasty organic coconut oil treats. After a life of abuse and neglect, Harley was finally adopted by his forever family. However, when his new loving family took him to the groomers they were told that his coat was not in the best condition. Soon after, they discovered the amazing benefits of coconut oil...

We know a lot of our customers use coconut oil for their dogs, as do we, because of its amazing properties and wide range of uses. In fact, we even sell it here

For those of you who don't know, here are just some of its impressive properties:

Clears up skin conditions and allergies
Protects against fleas
Improves digestion
Prevents infection and disease
Helps build strong bones
Improves oral health
Creates a glossy coat

We could go on...but we're pretty sure you can see why it's a great addition to your cupboard. We always have a jar in the kitchen and love to have a lick of the spoon when mum's using it for cooking or when my skin allergies flare up...of course, Paisley always gets a lick too!

The only problem with coconut oil is that it's sometimes hard to get the solidifed oil out of the jar. Does this problem sound familiar to you? Never fear, Harley Bear's Coco Bites have answered your prayers! They make the perfect bite size coconut oil treats for your pup. All that tasty goodness packed in to one little treat! Sounds good to us...

Harley Bear's Coco Bites Haul

So what did we get in our Valentine's parcel? The lovely people (and doggy) behind Harley Bear's Coco Bites sent us a tasty pack of their take on a childhood classic sweet...white chocolate mice! The 3 Blind Mice Box comes in your choice of peanut butter or white chocolate (dog safe, of course!) We were sent a peanut butter duo pack which got the paws up from us...well, who doesn't love peanut butter?! You can see how pawsome they look in the picture above.

The second item in our exciting package was a brand new addition to their shop: Strawberry Coins. The perfect treat for the upcoming spring months, and, of course, to get you in the mood for Wimbledon! Shaped into little chocolate coins, there are 6 organic coconut oil treats in this pack made with real baked and dried strawberries. As you can see, I got very bored waiting to try them...

Lastly, but by no means least, mum treated us to some limited edition Valentine's chocolate hearts. These came beautifully presented in a long, brown box. Shaped into little love hearts, slathered in peanut butter and then coated in carob chocolate. These were the most heavenly treats...and yes, we've already polished off the box!

Wilbur & Paisley from WildPaws Review Harley Bear's Coco Bites

Look good, don't they? Mum kept spying them in the fridge and resisting the urge to taste them. Because, let's face it, who could resist these amazing little bites of heaven? She said they reminded her of Reese's peanut butter chocolates. Not something we can have...but we imagine ours are much more tasty!

Wilbur Tasting Coconut Oil Treats

After posing for the camera, we finally got to taste them. Yes, they are as good as they look! We'd highly recommend them to all of our friends and followers. They're the perfect little treat as well as being very beneficial to us. Plus, despite having no nasties in them, most of their treats have a shelf life of 6 months - which is amazing in comparison to other treat companies. Not that they'd last that long...

We will definitely be ordering these again. I suffer from skin allergies and the only thing that calms my flare-ups is coconut oil. This way I can get my dose without the hassle of mum attempting (and failing) to dig out a spoonful of coconut oil...AND I get a tasty treat too!

Oh, and dad's happy he's now got the coconut oil jar back to himself again...

We hope you like our new feature: Support Small!

If you're a small business and interested in featuring in our next one then please do get in touch here.

We'd love to hear your comments on our new feature and if you do try Harley Bear's Coco Bites then do let us know what you think!

Love, nose licks & waggy tails,

From Wilbur & Paisley WildPaws
